Look Younger ... wake up looking fresher!

Having just returned from a holiday in the South of Spain; staying in a very warm room with tempermental air conditioning made my poor skin suffer, even out of the sun!  So, last night I applied my Origins Drink Up-Intensive Overnight Mask, gave my skin a chance to recover, and woke up this morning to see I was back to normal!

40+ Style ... leather skirts

By the time you've reached 40, you've probably had many 'mistakes' in your wardrobe, but now you know what you like & what suits you.  If you don't, get yourself along to a Colour Me Beautiful consultant immediately; look great and save yourself a fortune!

You'll see lots of leather / faux leather skirts in the shops at the moment, but if you're wanting to minimise your bottom half then you need to avoid any of those with a sheen, like the one below from Baukjen.com.

Choose a soft matt leather / faux leather skirt, that skims over your hips (rather than clings to your body), and pair it with a cashmere / cashmere mix jumper for a sophisticated day look.  Choose short sleeves to bring the eye up and away from your 'problem area'.

Another trick is to wear your leather skirt with a bright coloured top, or a patterned top to draw attention upwards; creating that optical illusion ;-)

And always avoid pockets, or any pocket detail, on your bottom half, unless you want your hips to look wider!

Look Younger ... with wrinkle polyfilla!

If you have some deep wrinkles you wish you could just polyfill, and are in need of a quick fix, there are lots of products out there that do just that!

My favourite continues to be, Tri-aktiline, 'the instant deep wrinkle filler'.  It won't leave you looking 20 years younger but it will 'blur' lines and give a flattering base for your foundation.  It works on laughter lines, lip lines, anywhere there's a line that you want to blur!  

For best results, pat the product on, using your ring finger; then just wait for everyone you meet to tell you how well you look!

Look Slimmer ... banish the VPL!

The right undies can make huge difference to your shape, especially from the rear view!  

You might not even carry a lot of weight on your bottom half, but if you have VPL issues you will look heavier than you are.  Shiny material is particularly bad at showing up VPL, so I was delighted to see Coast teaming up with Triumph to communicate the importance of a smooth silhouette.

Look Slimmer ... wear a statement necklace!

One of the most effective ways to look slimmer is to acquire some statement jewellery.  It's a very effective method to draw attention away from any 'problem' areas.

For pear-shapes, a statement necklace is a must to balance out your curves!

I love the style of Mawi necklaces but at almost £600 a piece, I recently looked around for alternative brands, with similar styles, at prices I could afford!  Not as easy as you would think.  One such necklace lost one of the stones while I was out, wearing it for the first time.  It wasn't one of the little insignificant stones, nope it was the main feature.  Lesson learnt, you get what you pay for!
